Our Story
Eclipse Painting was founded by owner Lane Underdahl in 1993. We gradually grew into a large painting company with over ten crews and roughly 45 employees until the year 2000. At this point, Lane realized bigger wasn’t always better. The quality and commitment to service that the company started with was no longer there. Overhead, employee turnover, and just plain being too large made for an overall marginal company.
In 2001, Lane made the executive decision to downsize Eclipse Painting and focus on full-time painters as opposed to seasonal employees. He renewed his commitment to being the best painting company in the Minneapolis metro and offering outstanding customer service for all clients. For the last twelve years, Eclipse Painting has maintained a company size of ten to fifteen full-time employees. This has made it easier to focus on every job large or small.
Today, some of our painters have worked for us for ten years or more with the average employment of around five years. We have learned that experience counts for everything!
Eclipse Painting is proud to be a family owned company, and we primarily paint residential interior and exterior homes in the Twin Cities western suburbs (Lake Minnetonka area). We also do a fair amount of commercial painting as well. Some of our long standing accounts include Chaska school district (14 schools), Discount Tire Stores in the metro area, and privately owned buildings in downtown Minneapolis.
